Nicholas Varley is an english composer and cellist currently based in Paris.


He has scored movies such as the french urban cartoon “Lascars” starring Diane Kruger and Vincent Cassel, nominated at Cannes 2009, and Disney’s chinese language epic “Trail of the Panda” co-composed with Noam Kaniel, produced by animation legend Jean Chalopin.


His other work includes the BAFTA winning Nicktoons/BBC 52x13’ cartoon “Corneil & Bernie”, and multiple global advertising campaigns for L’Oréal, Armani, Renault, Kodak, Rolex and Bouygues.


Nicholas regularly collaborates with american composer Noam Kaniel, notably on the hit show “Power Rangers - Samurai”, released in 2011. The pair are preparing many more projects for 2012, including shows for Moonscoop and DQ Entertainment.


He has a sizeable collection of old analogue synthesizers and drum machines which form the basis of his ambient electronic project “The Solar Syndrome” extracts of which can be heard via the link on this page.
